On the green path...The sky at night in Spittal, where the light pollutes just a little less. We are conscious of our impact on the environment and do what we can to minimise our carbon footprint, energy levels, water and chemical usage. In 1998, Weyland planted Alaskan Lodgepole Pine Trees in the area beyond the garden. This small woodland is now inhabited by an abundance of wildlife. The log pileprovides winter shelter to many insects and wldlife, giving the birds plenty to foragein the spring. At The Auld Post Office we want to ensure that our impact on the environment is kept to a minimum, especially as we are lucky enough to live in such a beautiful area in the Highlands of Scotland. We recycle whenever possible,glass, plastic, cans, paper etc.The slate from the old byre is now part of our garden wall.
