Quietly situated on the A9 route north in a central location, just a short drive to

both Thurso and Wick. Peace, comfort and tranquility in the heart of Caithness.

A beautifully restored cottage, nestled on the edge of woodland.  En-suite Guest rooms each have French

doors inviting you to the patio and gardens beyond, as well as a spacious Twin or Super-king annex Suite.   

Our garden is a haven for wildlife and birds, including our own illusive little roe deer residing in the pine

forest.  Look out for pheasants and pine martens too.   Quality restaurants are just a few minutes drive. 

Follow the step stones through the fir trees and meet the hens, that lay their fresh and tasty eggs for you!  

A perfect location to explore... visit the Castle & Gardens at Mey. take a walk to the ruins of Old Wick Castle and Castle Sinclair Girnigoe at Noss Head.  Visit Dunnet Head & Duncansby Stacks, a bird watcher’s paradise. Caithness has 25 harbours and 8 lighthouses on its rugged coastline. The spectacular beach at Dunnet Bay is formed in a great crescent from Castlehill Harbour to Dunnet. Early breakfast can be arranged for Guests taking the ferries to Stromness or Kirkwall, Orkney Islands from Scrabster (20 minutes) or Gills Bay (35 minutes). Tours leave daily  from John O’Groats (40 minutes) by car. We are fortunate to source fresh and tasty breakfast produce from our neighbours’ farms, beneath the big Caithness skies, as well as delicious local salmon, smoked in Caithness or on the beautiful Orkney Islands.
